Melrose High School policy for appropriate use of electronic devices
Individual electronic equipment (CD players, iPods, MP3 players, cell phones, cameras, etc.) may not be used in school buildings, with the exception of specific designated areas. Use of such equipment in designated areas on school property may not violate a student's, faculty's or staff member's privacy. In classrooms, these devices must be kept on the top right corner of a student's desk, unless otherwise specified by the teacher. Violators risk having the equipment confiscated and taken to a school administrator. Failure to turn over any electronic equipment to a staff member, as requested, may result in suspension. Confiscated equipment will not be returned until after school and then only at the discretion of the school administration.

Students are welcome to use their devices in the library, provided that they do not cause any disruption to other students or library-goers; with this in mind, students are asked to keep devices on silent or to use headphones.
